黄石寨位于张家界国家森林公园的中部，海拔约1200米，寨顶面积达200多亩，是由无数悬崖峭壁共同托起的一块雄伟、奇特而又美丽的台地。从寨顶眺望四周，只见云漫万堑，千峰攒聚，绿树凌空，薄雾飘舞。黄石寨是张家界风景的精华，一位著名诗人这样评价黄石寨：“五步称奇，七步叫绝，十步之外，目瞪口呆。”
杉林幽径
